In 2005 the Taittinger Group is sold but the Champagne remains owned by the family. Once again Bouvet Ladubay has the possibility to choose its future and a new owner. After three visits in three months to Saumur, an understanding of the spirit of the House and a belief in its Director, Patrice Monmousseau, Dr Vijay Mallya, president of the world's 3^rd largest beers and spirit business, becomes the new owner. As with Claude Taittinger, Dr Mallya wants the Company to preserve and perpetuate an autonomous family spirit.
